The Restriction Of Hazardous Substances Directive (ROHS) can be defined as a directive or regulation passed by the European Union pertaining to the use of some specific hazardous substances in various electronic articles and equipment. How to look for a compliant materials provider?
In order to function in accordance with the ROHS directive, the manufacturers of the electronic equipments have to make sure that the materials procured are according the ROHS norms. The supplier should have knowledge about which equipment are covered under the ROHS directives. All material should be ROHS compliant and the supplier must be well aware of this. Whenever a manufacturer of electronic equipment asks the supplier for such materials, he/she should be able to impart proper guidance on substances governed under the ROHS directive.
