All You Need To Know About X-Ray Inspection Systems
There are many reasons that the X-ray testing and inspection equipment are a must to limit or block the improper components. X-Ray inspection systems offer a way to know the solder joints. They also makes it possible to know the interior of the whole electronic device without affecting its structure or damaging them. It is important to mention here that X-Ray inspection testing is a non-destructive manner, which is a plus point.
In the previous times, 2D X-ray testing system was used but was not applicable for multi-layered devices. Therefore, to solve the problem 3D X-ray testing is being used these days. Different kinds of resolutions can be taken by using 3D X-ray testing and inspection equipment.
Even the densely placed electronic components on the printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) can be noticed with this testing method and the PCB can be used again if the testing system certifies it as the original one. Apart from the PCS, X-ray can be used to know certain other details of the electronic parts such as- cable assemblies or machined parts. There are many advantages of X-ray testing methods. Some of them are-
They are safe to use as they deliver a safe product that is well operational.

Dealing with obsolescence- A problem and a challenge
According to the experts this a problem which is growing day by day not in a specific industry but in various fields. Manufacturers need to care about many things before manufacture products such as electronic components. But when they have to compete with the others then there are many problems that may arise. For example, while shrinking the size of a particular component, certain other issues emerge such as- durability, reliability, etc.
Due to obsolete components and even the technology put many things at risk. According to the experts, the companies and government need to do something to solve the problem of obsolescence. As there are so many departments that are directly affected by this problem. For example- military equipment and devices that are generally replaced once in a decade as they are extremely costly and equipped with high-tech technology. In addition, other government departments such as oil and gas, nuclear plants and medical fields use costly devices which can't be replaced so quickly.
Therefore, obsolescence is not the fault of designers, its the need of the today's fast-growing technology. Obsolescence has made another big hit on the companies as the cost of redesign and reprints the obsolete components is very high. In addition that specific component must be approved and tested.
If we talk about the distributors that deal with the obsolete electronic components then it's very difficult to find the reliable one. If you are looking for such distributor then you must contact Resion. They distribute electronic components all over the United States in various public and private sectors. Some Important Visual Inspection Equipments
Basically, there are two types of methods that help in finding the defects, flaws, and imperfections. These methods are- NDT (non-destructive testing) and DT (destruction testing). Testing methods analyze the strength of the device and verify the physical structure of the device. Below we have mentioned some of the important visual inspection equipment. It is important to mention here that the visual testing method is an NDT method which causes no damage to the device.
- Borescopes- It is also known as a Boroscope. Borescope is one of the important equipment of the inspection methods. It is an optical device made up of a firm but flexible tube having a lens one side and eyepiece on the other end. Without affecting the structure of the device or machinery, this equipment can be used. It is better used to inspect the diesel engines, aircraft, and other automotive and truck engines.
- Microscopes- As the name specifies, the microscope is a kind of instrument which is used to see minute objects that can't be seen by the naked eye. There are different types of microscopes which can be used to locate the objects and structures of a particular object.
- Magnifying Glasses- It is a convex len which is used to generate the magnifies images of the objects of different devices just to check the problem.
- Micrometers- Also named as micrometer screw gauge. This device is used to measure a specific component of the machinery and mechanical engineering.
- UV Lights- UV rays are also known as Ultraviolet radiations having wavelength more than X-rays and lesser than visible light.
It's a fact that any component that is made becomes obsolete even after a decade due to fast-changing technology and new innovations....
Obsolete Component Suppliers- Need of all sectors
The obsolescence component becomes a major problem in the medical sector. Imagine someday, you receive a call from the supplier that "the medical device you are using now has many obsolete components and we have stopped the manufacturing of these components." The whole medical instrument or device may become worthless and a medical facility may become out of service. The medical instruments and devices are equipped with electronic components and technology. Due to continuous change in the structure, size, technology, and working, the new and the unique components are being used. As a result, all components become obsolete over the course of time it's a reality.
There is a continuous need for obsolete components, especially in the medical sector. It's not possible for an owner of the medical facility to change or exchange the old medical tool with the new one. In addition, failure of one component may stop the working and diagnosis process in the medical setting. This is the main reason of demand for obsolete components in the market irrespective of a particular sector.
Do you want a specific electronic component for the medical instrumentation? Are you looking for obsolete component suppliers? Contact-Resion. The company is a leading and independent distributors of various obsolete components of medical instrumentation and other sectors. They supply the components to several other departments such as- military, oil and gas, aerospace, and defense in the United States.

What are major differences between MIL-DTL-38999 Series I, II, III connectors?
Common characteristics of connectors:
Connectors usually comprise of a mating pair (plug and receptacle) each provided with male (pin) or female (socket) contacts. In order to reduce mechanical stresses, one of the connector halves, or its contacts, should be floating.
Types of connectors:
- Electrical connector contacts are usually Beryllium copper or Phosphor bronze which is coated with gold or some other highly-conductive, non-corrosive metal. The contacts are held by a dielectric insulator and are placed in an enclosure, that is mostly die-cast aluminum and plated to protect from corrosion. The contacts either can be captive or removable using a special tool.
- Fiber optic connectors are so-called male or typically plugs connectors with an extending ferrule that grips the fibers and arranges two fibers for mating. They make use of an adapter to mate the two connectors that suit the securing mechanism of the connectors.
The main differences between MIL-DTL-38999 series I, II, and III are:
- MIL-DTL-38999 series I connectors are bayonet coupled connectors and Series I connectors are bayonet coupled and posses high-vibration properties. They have almost 100% scoop proof design, available for connector size from 9 to 25. Series I connectors are ideal for moisture environment and heavy wind. They are employed when a fast disconnect coupling system is needed.
- MIL-DTL-38999 series II connectors are bayonet coupled low profile connectors. They have a non-scoop proof design, available for connectors size 8 to 24. Series II is used when space or weight is limited, or in high moisture, low-vibration, and strong wind conditions.
- MIL-DTL-38999 series III connectors are coupled by a thread. They have 100% scoop proof design, available for connector size 9 to 25. They are best matched for normal mating and unmating applications and can withstand high temperature, wind, moisture, or vibration environment.

Overview of Various Basic Electronic Components
The basic categories of the electronics components-
1) Active Components
2) Passive Components
1) Passive Electronic Components- There are many components which come under the passive components. Basically, passive components are those which can store energy either in the form of voltage or current. Some important passive components are-
- Resistors- It is a two-terminal passive component which is used to block the current. They work on the principle of Ohm's law. Resistors have its resistance and it is measured in ohms so the units of the resistance in ohms. Resistors can be further divided into two parts: fixed resistors and variable resistors.
- Capacitors- It is another very important electronic component used in almost every electronic device. An electronic circuit is incomplete without the capacitor. It stores energy in the form of the electric field. The capacitor blocks the direct current and allows the AC signal.
- Inductors- This is another passive component of the electronic world. It is also known as AC resistor which stores electrical energy in the form of magnetic energy. It is used in various electrical circuits and other energy producing devices.
Some other passive electronic components include different types of motors, memristors, antennas, sensors, etc. It is another vast topic that includes numerous other components.
Active Electronic Components- Active components depend on the source of energy and regulate the flow of electrons which flow through it. Some of these components are semiconductors like integrated circuits, diodes, transistors, displays such as- LED, LCD, CRTs, and power sources like batteries, PV cells and other AC and DC supply sources.
- Diodes- Diodes are the elements that allow the flow of current in one direction. They are manufactured from the semiconductor material. It is also a two terminal component which has anode and cathode terminals. It is used in the devices which are used to convert the AC to DC circuits. Different types of diodes are- Zener diodes, photodiodes, PN diodes, and LEDs.
- Integrated Circuits- Often known as ICs. They are generally fabricated with the hundreds to thousands of diodes, resistors, transistors, and other components on a tiny silicon chip. They are the backbone of this growing technology and innovation, such as- smartphones, laptops, watches and other electronic components. Some of the commonly used ICs are- timers, Op-amps, switches ICs, comparators, and many more.
